Donald Trump had an awkward moment Sunday while ascending the stairs to Air Force One — stumbling mid-step and nearly falling flat — and it didn’t take long for social media users to jump on it.
The misstep was especially notable given how much attention MAGA supporters have paid to Joe Biden’s similar stumbles on those exact stairs in recent years. This time, it was Trump’s turn to trend — with many left-leaning commentators highlighting the irony.

“When Joe Biden did stuff like this, Fox would play the clips over and over like it was as significant as the moon landing,” Aaron Rupar pointed out.
“Time to get Old Man Trump fitted for a wheelchair,” Ron Filipkowski added, keeping the sarcasm rolling.

Fortunately, Trump managed to regain his balance before falling, avoiding what could have been a more serious incident. Interestingly, Senator Marco Rubio — following close behind — also appeared to stumble higher up the staircase shortly after Trump.
Trump hasn’t addressed the stumble publicly yet, but many are watching closely to see whether he comments or lets it slide. What’s also being questioned is whether his near-fall will attract the same level of scrutiny that Biden’s did.
In any case, perhaps it’s time to take a second look at those plane stairs before someone takes a real spill.
