“Trump is Eff*d”: Judge Who Trump Absolutely Hates Will Oversee Epstein Files Case

U.S. District Judge Tanya Chutkan — who previously presided over Donald Trump’s federal election interference case — has been assigned a lawsuit seeking government records tied to Jeffrey Epstein. The suit, filed by the Democracy Forward Foundation (DFF), requests the Department of Justice and the FBI release any communications between Trump administration officials about the Epstein matter, any direct communication between Trump and Epstein, and Epstein’s alleged client list once acknowledged by then–Attorney General Pam Bondi as being in her possession.

The D.C.-based nonprofit filed the case alongside several Freedom of Information Act requests and sought expedited processing, citing “a matter of widespread and exceptional media interest in which there exist possible questions about the government’s integrity that affect public confidence.”

The group also pointed to urgency following Trump’s refusal to rule out clemency for Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s convicted co-conspirator. Among the documents sought are “all materials prepared or compiled by DOJ officials for Attorney General Bondi’s review regarding the Jeffery Epstein matter,” which would likely include the alleged client list of men to whom Epstein trafficked underage girls.

Bondi once stated such a list was “sitting on her desk, ready to review” before later claiming it had never existed. Chutkan, known for rulings against Trump in his election case, has also overseen litigation challenging the Department of Justice’s authority and recently blocked the Environmental Protection Agency from withholding grant funds.
