Woman Who Called Herself a ‘MAGA Junkie’ Says ‘Biggest Regret’ Was Voting for Trump After Losing Her Job in Purge

A self-described “MAGA junkie” who voted for President Donald Trump last year shared her regret with CNN after losing her job at the Treasury Department due to the layoffs linked to Elon Musk’s DOGE purge.
“I cried,” Jennifer Piggott told the network. “It’s a really scary thing, and I was embarrassed.” She expressed frustration over the targeting of working-class Americans for job cuts, saying, “It just doesn’t make sense to me.”

Piggott had hoped for more from Trump. “I expected more from President Donald Trump,” she said.
Another employee, who chose to remain anonymous, opted for retirement rather than risk a layoff in order to retain her health insurance. Like Piggott, she had voted for Trump and now seems to share her regret. “I’m for balancing the budget, that type of thing, but not in this context,” she explained. “It’s just not right.”
Many of those initially laid off, including Piggott, are now on paid administrative leave as they challenge the layoffs in court.
When asked if she had a message for Trump, Piggott said, “I expected better from you. I really did. I expected that you would do what was right and cut waste and fraud and all of those things that you promised us before we elected you in office, but you’re not doing that. You’re creating a disaster, and I don’t know what America is gonna look like if this continues.”
